This complicated renovation project of an old estate contains many of the same elements as the West Virginia University Recreational Facility. A welded aluminum natatorium was installed after the building shell was erected allowing for work to continue in inclement weather. This resulted in the project schedule being maintained. Racquetball courts, gymnasium, elevated running track, locker areas, meeting rooms, and administrative offices were phased into use as the building continued to be utilized as a YMCA site during the building process. This 50,000 sf project was designed by Dean and Dean Architects, Huntington, West Virginia.
